Suppressed Music During the Shoah, Making the Connection

Dr. Suzanne Snizek is an expert in suppressed music during the Shoah, and will be speaking to this at her lecture. She is a professor of Music at UVIC, and an extremely accomplished concert flautist.
An internationally acclaimed performer and clinician, Snizek’s appearances include the Conservatorio de Música del Estado de México (Toluca, Mexico), Festivale Internacional de Mùsica (Loja, Ecuador); California Polytechnic University (San Luis Obispo, USA); Suzhou University (China), East China Normal University (Shanghai), and the Guangzhou Fine Arts Academy. She was the featured guest artist of the 2019 Edmonton (AB, Canada) Flute Festival.
As a scholar, Dr. Snizek’s innovative research on “Suppressed Music” has been published by Böhlau Verlag- Vienna, Routledge- New York, Armand Colin- Paris, World ORT and presented at numerous venues including Chutzpah! Festival (Vancouver, CA), Cambridge University (UK), Forum Voix Étoufées (Strasbourg, FR and Berlin, DE) Banff Arts Centre (Alberta, CA) and l’École Militaire (Paris, FR).
