We now have the blessings of warmer weather, the summer green markets are full of abundant local vegetables and berries, and sharing meals outside.
The beauty and bounty of our natural surroundings is often commented upon in our Torah. This week we read again of the people Israel remembering the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic they had left behind in Egypt. Sounds like my basic shopping list!
Behalotecha also includes the inverted and reversed nuns – as in the letter – an anomaly that delights the reader of Torah. Some of our commentators regard these few verses “Vayehi Binsoa Ha’Aron” as their own “Book”, others, that the reversed nuns indicate these verses are incorrectly positioned. Here is a link to our Sofer Marc Michaels page about the book he wrote based on these inverted nuns: https://www.sofer.co.uk/sefer-binsoa
Gratitude: I have so much gratitude for you all – people I have known for decades, or for minutes, people who build Kolot Mayim into a vibrant community of souls. Thank you all.
Wishing all long life, healthy life, a good life,
With deep love,
Rabbi Lynn
